Leonard W. Dooren is a Shareholder of the firm. Mr. Dooren defends health care providers and practices in the areas of medical malpractice, oral surgical malpractice, dental malpractice, medical licensing and board investigations, staff privileges & credentialing, health care litigation, and other complex civil litigation matters.
Mr. Dooren is an active member of the Maryland, District of Columbia, and Virginia bars. Mr. Dooren has nearly thirty years of jury trial and appellate experience in all three jurisdictions. Mr. Dooren is also an active member of many of the United States District and federal appellate courts for Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. In 2023 Len was accepted into the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Mr. Dooren earned a degree in Economics from Villanova University in 1988. Mr. Dooren worked his way through law school as a law clerk with Jay S. Weiss, PC in D.C. and in 1992 was awarded his juris doctorate degree, graduating cum laude from the Washington College of Law, American University.
After graduating from law school, Leonard Dooren entered the private practice of law. Mr. Dooren has been exclusively practiced medical malpractice litigation for the past 28 years.
In August 2013, Mr. Dooren joined Gleason, Flynn, Emig & McAfee, Chartered as a Senior Associate, promoted to Member in 2015, and later promoted to a Shareholder in 2020.
His wife Jennifer is the Deputy News Chief at NASA and together with they are raising four children. Their oldest daughter is a Second Lieutenant in the Army. In his spare time, Len enjoys skiing, hiking, and sailing.
